Myopia Control Contact Lenses

Soft Contact Lenses

MiSight® Contact Lenses with ActiveControl® Technology

MiSight® 1 day contact lenses are soft, daily disposable lenses specifically designed to correct nearsightedness (myopia) in children and, uniquely, to slow the progression of myopia as they grow.

They are the first and only FDA-approved contact lens proven to reduce myopia progression in children aged 8–12 at the initiation of treatment.

Here’s how they work, in simple terms:

  • Clear Vision in the Center: The middle part of the lens works just like a regular contact lens, making sure your child can see clearly at all distances—whether they’re looking at the board in class or reading a book.

  • Special Rings Around the Edge: What makes MiSight® different is that it has special “treatment zones” in rings around the center. These rings gently focus some light in a way that sends a signal to the eye to slow down its growth. Since the main reason myopia gets worse is because the eyeball grows too long, slowing down this growth helps keep your child’s vision from getting worse as quickly.

  • Worn Like Regular Contacts: Your child wears a fresh pair of MiSight® lenses every day. They are soft and comfortable, and there’s no need to clean them—just throw them away at the end of the day.

In summary, MiSight® 1 day lenses give your child clear vision and, at the same time, help protect their eyesight for the future by slowing down the progression of nearsightedness. This means fewer prescription changes and a lower risk of serious eye problems later in life.

Orthokeratology Lenses (Ortho-K)

How Do Ortho-K Lenses Work?

  • Ortho-K lenses are fitted to your unique eye shape and worn each night.

  • While you sleep, the lenses apply gentle, targeted pressure to the cornea, temporarily flattening it and correcting refractive errors such as myopia (short-sightedness), astigmatism, and even some cases of hyperopia (long-sightedness).

  • This reshaping allows light to focus correctly on the retina, resulting in clear vision during waking hours.

  • The effect typically lasts about 24 hours, so the lenses must be worn nightly to maintain good vision.
